Eight-Time European Player to Oversee Accommodations for Team, Fans

Former European Ryder Cup Captain Colin Montgomerie has been appointed to the newly created role of Ryder Cup Hotel Inspector.

In this role, Montgomerie will be responsible for inspecting and evaluating the hotels that will host the European and American teams, as well as the fans, during the 2023 Ryder Cup at Marco Simone Golf and Country Club in Rome, Italy.

Montgomerie, who represented Europe eight times as a player and captained the team to victory in 2010, said he is excited to take on this new role.

"The Ryder Cup is in my blood, and I am delighted to be able to continue my involvement with the event in this new capacity," said Montgomerie.

"I am confident that I can use my experience as a player and captain to ensure that the teams and fans have the best possible experience at the 2023 Ryder Cup."

The Ryder Cup is one of the most prestigious events in golf, and the 2023 event is expected to attract over 250,000 fans.
